Downtown Library Parking Lot Friday, July 3, 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Note – This is an outdoor event with no seating; patrons should bring lawn chairs On Friday, July 3, the Downtown Library’s parking lot will be decked out in red, white, and blue as we celebrate the 250th anniversary of our nation’s founding. 3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. – Crafts, outdoor games, popsicles, and face painting for the kids, plus a public reading of the Declaration of Independence—read by patrons and library staff. 4:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. – A patriotic concert by the Alton Municipal Band brass quartet. Bring your lawn chairs and be ready to celebrate America’s 250th birthday at the library! No registration required.
