43rd Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration at SIUE

SIUE will host its 43rd Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration on Wednesday, Jan. 21, featuring keynote speaker Ilyasah Shabazz, author, educator and daughter of civil rights leaders Malcolm X and Dr. Betty Shabazz.

This year’s theme, “The Power of the Dream: Becoming an Agent for Change,” emphasizes a shift from reflection to action through justice, inclusion and equity.

The event will run from 11 a.m.–2 p.m. in the Meridian Ballroom of the Morris University Center.
