Sylvia Taylor manages the Bears Ears Education Center, a component of the Friends of Cedar Creek Mesa (FCM), a non-profit which “…works to protect and build respect for the cultural and natural landscapes of the greater Bears Ear region”. Sylvia will be sharing a poem entitled; “Cedar Mesa, Cedar Mesa” by Vaughn Hadenfeldt to help focus her presentation on the history, plants, and animals, and conservation challenges facing Bears Ears National Monument. On October 8, 2021, President Biden issued a Presidential Proclamation modifying the boundaries of the Monument which had been reduced during the prior Administration.
