Based on the experiences of volunteers and the findings of several paranormal groups, it is believed that the original Red House is haunted by several spirits. Most prominently, the slaves who hid in the basement’s false cellar, which served as a “station” on the Underground Railroad. It’s believed a dark presence also lurks here, with people (mainly women) often reporting being scratched, or having their hair pulled!
