This Friday is another Night at the Museum featuring author John Dunphy. He is featuring his latest book on local history entitled, "Abolitionism and the Civil War in Southwestern Illinois". Mr. Dunphy is of course a local author and frequent contributor to the Alton Telegraph. He has spoken here many times and always produces an informative and engaging talk.
His latest work includes many topics ranging from: Edward Coles, Dr. Silas Hamilton, Elijah Dimmock, Lyman Trumbell, the debate in 1858, Griffin Frost, Rocky Fork church, Phillip Mercer, the Hamilton school in Otterville, and of course Lovejoy and the Underground Railroad.
