Renowned art historian Anna C. Chave will discuss Mona Hatoum’s work as it relates to the history of Minimalism, as well as Marcel Duchamp’s historic use of ‘ready-made’ objects within contemporary art practice. Chave is Professor Emerita of Art History at the Graduate Center, City University of New York. She is widely published on issues of gender and identity, reception and interpretation, and is known for her revisionist readings of Minimalism, and her monographs on Rothko and Brancusi.
