About this event

Enjoy a little bit of exercise, a little bit of education, and a piece of mile-high pie on Saturday, February 17th!

What: Explore the Kingsbury Park District Nature Preserve hiking trails, then enjoy a delicious lunch at the Blue Springs Café in Highland. After lunch, tour the Green Finned Hippy Farm, a “beyond organic” farm in Pocahontas, IL. The farm features aquaponically grown produce and pasture-raised eggs, along with other products.

When: Meet at 8 am at the parking lot diagonally across from Hayner Public Library in downtown Alton. We expect to return around 4 pm.

Who: Participants must be able to hike for 2 – 3 hours. The terrain is fairly easy, but there are some hills.

Why: Exercise in the great outdoors, eat pie, learn: What could be better?

Register by contacting Susan Murray at emseth75@gmail.com or 618.581.2505 (texting preferred). Register by February 12th. Event will cancel if minimum registration not met. Participants will be required to sign a waiver.

Note: Bring cash or check for Blue Springs café. They do not accept credit cards. Eating pie is recommended but not required!
