In October of 2014, the Museum teamed up with the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis and the Mildred Lane Kemper Art Museum to transport our three ancient mummies to the Center for Advanced Medicine at Barnes-Jewish Hospital for CT scans.
Lisa Çakmak, the associate curator of ancient art, and radiologists from the Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology At Washington University will discuss the use of modern medical imaging techniques on ancient artifacts and what they discovered from the mummy scans.
