About this event

FrogWatch starts with a presentation to train volunteers on the identification of toads and frogs commonly found in Illinois. We then go out to the field to collect and record data for our citizen science collaboration. This is a great chance for frog walk participants to take their skills to the next level and make a difference in the lives of local amphibians.

Registration Required: Check back for registration link.

"Frogs and toads also play an important role, serving as both prey and predator, in wetland ecosystems and are considered indicators of environmental health. Many previously abundant frog and toad populations have experienced dramatic population declines both in the United States and around the world and it's essential that scientists understand the scope, geographic scale, and cause of these declines." -FrogWatch USA
