About this event
Our October 14 program presenter is Barbara Anderson, Registered Architect: Missouri & Illinois, a senior architect with over 25 years experience in a wide variety of project types including municipal, recreational, educational, health care, correctional, commercial, hospitality, and retail. She is a LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Accredited Professional with substantial project experience. To help educate the public about sustainability, Barb often speaks at a variety of events as a member of the U.S. Green Building Council’s Volunteer Speakers Bureau. Barb is also involved in various committees to advocate for green building and sustainable practices.
Her presentation will focus on the new version of LEED which is scheduled to be released at Greenbuild in November 2013. LEED v4 is the newest update to the rating system. Changes for LEED 2009 are seen in three main categories: new market sectors, increased technical rigor and streamlined services. A summary of changes will be reviewed. LEED v4 raises the bar on leadership.
The meeting will begin at 7:30 p.m. Monday, October 14, at Riverbender Community Center's main lobby, 200 W. Third St., in Alton. Members and friends are invited to eat and socialize at 5:45 p.m. at Mac’s Time Out in Alton. For more info, please call Chris Krusa:
