Ben's Bluegrass BBQ and Beer Bash

 Got Bluegrass?  Got BBQ?   Got Beer?   Well, the Friends of the Benjamin Stephenson House will at the Third Annual Ben’s Bluegrass, BBQ and Beer Bash.  Join the friends for another down-home good time on the grounds of the Benjamin Stephenson House (409 South Buchanan, Edwardsville) September 9. This friend-raiser kicks off at 3:30 pm and goes till 7:00 pm

      For Bluegrass:  they have the musical entertainment of Keith Dudding and his Mountain River Valley Boys Bluegrass Band (music 4:00 to 7:00). Dudding is a well known Metro East musician who hosts a weekly KDHX 88.1 FM St. Louis radio bluegrass show in his spare time.

     For BBQ: Fire ‘n Smoke Wood-Fired Kitchen of Troy is providing the BBQ for the event. Ticket holders have will be treated to a buffet of pulled pork, turkey breast with cranberry BBQ sauce, potato salad, macaroni and cheese, and bread with garlic and regular butter.

     For Beer:  Recess Brewing tops off the event with their craft brews and a selection of wines.

    Adult tickets include the BBQ buffet, one beer or wine selection.   The child's ticket includes the BBQ buffet.  Sodas and water will be available at no extra charge.   Additional alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase during the event.

      Tickets are $25 for Adults (with a $10 deductible donation to the house).  A child’s (12 years and younger) ticket is $10. This event is a friend-raiser; become a Friend or renew your membership through 2018.  Join at the Landmark Level ($100) and you will receive two tickets and a $70.00 tax deductible donation House.   Join at the Heritage Level ($250) and receive four tickets and a $210 tax deductible donation to the House.  . The Friends of the Col. Benjamin Stephenson House is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit.  (FEIN 37-1375804).

     Everyone is asked to bring a lawn chair since seating provided by the site is limited. Tables will be set up under the tent for participants to use while eating. Although the event is from 3:30-7:00 pm, food will only be served between 4-6:30pm.    Ben’s Bash is a rain or shine fundraiser. In the event of rain, the large tent will be available to provide cover. Parking will be at the Dairy Queen’s and First Christian Church’s parking lots.

     All of the funds raised at the event will be used to create and implement educations programs for area children including their school trunk program, tours and summer camps and continue the ongoing restoration and maintenance of the house and historic gardens.  The Stephenson House is located at 409 S.
