Event to raise FUNDING for Anesthesia Machine, Supplies and Medicine for Lead Machine and Treatment.
Lead ingestion and poisoning from ammunition sources has been documented in many avian predators and scavengers, such as bald and golden eagles and red-tailed hawks. These birds can be exposed to lead when they consume game birds or mammals that have been shot with lead ammunition.
Testing for lead levels is done with blood sampling. A lead testing machine has already been purchased, however, an Anesthesia Machine, testing supplies and medication to treat the animals can cost hundreds or thousands of dollars.
