The Alton Area Optimist Club will be hosting their 6th Annual Earth Day 5K Run and 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk on April 22, 2017 at Glazebrook Park in Godfrey, Ill.
The race begins at 8 a.m. and starts in the park's loop. The runners will go down Stamper Lane on the new sidewalk, through the woods and back to the park.
5K - Trophies for 1st place overall male and female finishers and top three (male & female) runners will be awarded. There are also prizes for the following categories: 13 and under, 14-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60 and over.r
1 Mile - Top three overall medals for male, female adults and child will be awarded.
Microfiber/dry fit t-shirts for participants who register before April 7, 2017.
The entry fee is $20 for adults 19 and over and $10 for students 18 and under.
