From 9 a.m. until noon, Saturday, July 25, 2015 the Great Rivers Chapter of the Illinois Audubon Society will host a Hummingbird Festival at the Lewis and Clark State Historic Site which is located at the intersections of IL Route 3 and New Poag Road, Hartford, Illinois.
Vernon Kleen, licensed bird bander and President of the Lincoln Land Association of Bird Banders, will give a presentation inside the interpretative center about Rubythroated Hummingbirds and answer questions.
When Kleen adjourns his program, he will move outside to band any hummingbirds which have been captured.
A children’s activity table will be located inside the main lobby of the site. This event is free and open to the public.
