
JERSEYVILLE – Jerseyville officials quickly approved multiple items at their June 23, 2026 City Council meeting, including library trustee reappointments and TIF applications for two buildings.

Library Trustees Reappointed
City Council members approved the reappointment of three trustees to the Jerseyville Public Library Board. These include Josh Hileman, Jerry Schleper, and Kevin Weber.
Each of the three trustees will serve terms set to expire on June 30, 2029. Mayor Kevin Stork added “they all do a good job” on the board.
Two TIF Applications Approved
The City Council also approved two applications for Tax Increment Financing (TIF) assistance to help reimburse property owners for improvements to two Jerseyville buildings.
An application from Tammy Shireman was unanimously approved for facade improvements to 209 S. Washington St. Shireman is currently renovating the former Bell Telephone Company building into an event venue named The Bell Haus.
Shireman said upgrades are currently planned for the site’s handicap entrance ramp and railing, exterior doors, and other concrete work. The building’s interior is also being repainted before new flooring is installed, followed by other future improvements.
Council members also approved a commercial roof grant application from Brad Tonsor for 116 W. Pearl St. The building, which spans 116 to 122 W. Pearl St., is currently home to Restorative Solutions Counseling before its office moves permanently to 108 S. State St.
