Linda Plegge, 75, passed away at 8:53 am on Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at Alton Memorial Hospital.
She was born on August 23, 1948 in Litchfield, IL, the daughter of John and Bernadine (Gregg) Flynn. She married Kenneth R. Plegge at Zion Lutheran Church in Bethalto on October 10, 1970. He preceded her in death on October 28, 2019.
Linda was an office manager for Country Companies for many years before retiring from Ft. Russell Township. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Bethalto for many years. Linda enjoyed shopping, going out to eat, baking, family holidays, and family vacations. She also enjoyed spending time with her friends and family, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include her children, Pamela (Eric) Kleckner of Staunton, Jeanne (Jeff) Schultz of Godfrey, and David (Nicole) Plegge of Glen Carbon; grandchildren, Seth Kleckner, Ryan Kleckner, Megan Schultz, Brent Schultz, Mia Plegge, and Kate Plegge; a brother, Harold (Mary) Flynn of Raymond, IL; a sister-in-law, Alice Gunderson of Bethalto; along with several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Along with her parents and husband, Kenneth, she was preceded in death by two brothers, John (as well as his wife, Pat) Flynn and Rick Flynn; and a brother-in-law, Loren Gunderson.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 3, 2024, from 4 to 7 pm, at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto.
Visitation will continue on Saturday, May 4, 2024, from 8:30 am until time of service at 9:30 am at Zion Lutheran Church in Bethalto. Pastor Kale Hanson and Pastor Willard Meyer will officiate. Burial will follow at Zion Lutheran Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to Zion Lutheran School of Bethalto and/or Zion Lutheran School of Staunton.
