Held at the Alton Cemetery, the annual Vintage Voices Tour offers attendees a look into Alton's past with authentically dressed actors portraying historical figures and telling their stories. In this excerpt, we discover the beginnings of The Dominant Ninth Choral Society.

Mrs. Charles B. (Cora) Rohland was founder and director of the Dominant Ninth Choral Society, which won national recognition under her guidance.  As a teacher, she left her impression on many students who continued in the field of music.  At the time of her death, the music section of the Hayner Memorial Library was largely made up of choice and useful books carefully selected by her.
