Sierra Club Host Forum for Closure of Dynegy Power Plant
January 12, 2016 | 2,187 views
The mayors of Alton, East-Alton, and Wood River sat in with the Sierra Club to host a forum to address public concerns over what appears to be a likely closure of the Dynegy power plant aptly called the "Wood River plant in East-Alton with an Alton address" due to it's location. Monica Bristow, of the River Bend Growth Association, moderated the event as Dynegy and local government officals were on hand to answer any questions. Major concerns covered job loss, tax loss, and environmental issues that may occur if the plant does close.
