There’s a new place in Alton that mixes bargains and intrigue. At Discount Liquidation Products, located at 1848 E. Broadway, the name of the game is purchasing closeouts, overstocks and out of season products that they then turn around and sell deeply discounted to the public. One never knows what they’ll find on any given day because inventory is always changing. “We specialize in bringing in one-off opportunities and then selling them at 50% of the cost. So for example, the La-Z- Boy recliner, if you get on your smartphone and research that model it sell for $1,000, we sell it in-store for $500 – while supplies last.” Said owner Shawn Downing . Discount Liquidation Products is also an authorized U-Haul dealer and rents trucks, trailers and any of U-Haul’s lineup. “It’s another added service. That way, if you bought that kitchen island but you have a car and no way to get it home, I wanted to offer another solution to you to get it home.”
On Thursday April 27, the Riverbend Growth Association (RBGA) held a ribbon cutting ceremony to recognize Discount Liquidation Products as its newest member. Attending the event, along with Growth Association Director of Member Services Trish Holmes, was Alton Housing and Development Director Greg Caffey, Mark Ellebracht, host of WBGZ’s morning ‘Let’s Talk’ program and 16 RBGA Ambassadors. Discount Liquidation Products is located at 1848 E. Broadway in Alton, next to door to the Alton Law Enforcement Center. Discount Liquidation Products also has a location in Granite City.
