Miles Davis Statue Unveiled in Alton

World renowned Jazz musician Miles Davis was born in Alton in 1926 and 89 years later the Miles Davis Memorial Project, a collaboration between the Miles Davis Jazz Committee of the Alton Museum of History and Art and Pride, Incorporated, unveiled a statue in his honor.

Watch as Miles Davis’ story is told by Master of Ceremony Jim Killian and dignitaries he introduces including sculptor Preston Jackson and Emmy nominated jazz trumpet player Bobby Shoe in beautiful Downtown Alton, Illinois.
