World renowned Jazz musician Miles Davis was born in Alton in 1926 and 89 years later the Miles Davis Memorial Project, a collaboration between the Miles Davis Jazz Committee of the Alton Museum of History and Art and Pride, Incorporated, unveiled a statue in his honor.
