Philippe Khouri, General Manager of Penn National Gaming’s, Alton Argosy Casino hosted a private party to open their new restaurant Journey, which will officially open on August 1st.
Khouri said the restaurant’s name was appropriate for a few reasons; its location on the bank of the Mississippi River, the history of Marquette and Joliette’s travels through the area and Mark Twain’s fictional depictions of river travel in the Adventures of Huckleberry Finn.
The restaurant is intimate, cleverly decorated and takes full advantage of the rivers vista. But let’s face it, it’s the food that makes the restaurant and that’s where your journey begins; from start to finish, it’s a trip you’ll remember and want to take again.
Watch Monica Bristow introduce Greg Caffey, Director of Development and Housing for Alton and State Representative Dan Beiser who both speak of Argosy’s commitment to the area andto offering a top-of-the-line dining and entertainment venue to the region. Executive Chef Jeff Ledford describes the inspiration that led him to create the Journey’s menu – hint; he’s not tooproud of his cheese cake!
