Wood River – On Thursday September 27 the Riverbend Growth Association held a ribbon cutting to celebrate 15 years of the Madison County Child Advocacy Center (CAC) providing professional intervention and supportive services to fight child abuse. The CAC provides a safe haven for children to talk about the physical or sexual abuse they may have experienced and to help in limiting the number of times a child has to be interviewed. Senator William Haine, along with representatives from area police departments and other regional politicians also attended the event. Watch as Growth Association Director of Member Services, Trish Holmes, introduces CAC Executive Director Carrie Cohan and Senator Haine who both speak prior to the ribbon cutting cutting the ribbon.
