Gilson Brown Elementary Holds Memorial for Romell Jones

Student's filled the playground at Gilson Brown Elementary as their Principal, JoAnne Curvey, led a memorial for Romell Jones, a student who was recently lost in a shooting that occured at the Alton Housing Authority Recreation Center in Alton Acres. Each student was given a blue balloon for Romell's favorite color. At the end of the ceremony, the school released the balloons into the sky to remember their fallen friend. Romell's parents were also on hand and they recieved a basketball, which was Romell's favorite sport, with all of the students signatures.
