Mayor Brant walker helped kick off Alton's annual Juneteenth celebration with a proclamation making the event an official city day. The Juneteenth celebration commermates the ending of slavery in a Americal. Sponsorded by the National Council of Negro Women, the event had a petting zoo, arts, crafts, gymnast, food, music, and a variety of other activities to celebrate the historical event.
