The Edwardsville YMCA is dedicated to enriching the lives of all individuals and families in the communities we serve through programs and services based on Christian principles that promote a healthy spirit, mind and body for all.
We opened our doors in 1949 in a downtown storefront location on then Purcell Street. We moved into the donated Terry House on Fourth Street in the late 1950’s and onto our current Esic Center location in 1967. The original building is home to a gymnasium, fitness center and aerobic room, the YMCA preschool, two indoor pools, racquetball courts, an outdoor playground, childcare room and an activity room for multipurpose use. The Esic Center is conveniently located in the center of Edwardsville on Esic Drive. In 2005, we opened the doors to our 116,000 sq. ft. Meyer Center. The newer of the two branches, is home to tennis courts, gymnastics center, an indoor track, a gymnasium, a skate center, an outdoor pool and playground, a rock climbing wall and a childcare room. The Meyer Center is located on Goshen Road. Our newest addition is the Allison Cassens Early Childhood Development Center in Glen Carbon off Cottonwood Road, opened in 2013 providing full-day childcare from 6 weeks until Kindergarten.

When you join the Edwardsville YMCA, you belong to a community of men, women and children who strive every day to be healthy, confident and connected. The Y is a place where adults connect with and make friends, pursue interests and learn how to live healthier. Children and teens play, learn who they are and what they can achieve, and are accepted. Parents find a safe, positive environment for their children to learn good values, social skills and behaviors. We all build relationships that further our sense of belonging and purpose.
With the Y, you’re not just a member of a facility, you’re part of a cause. With a shared commitment to nurturing the potential of kids, improving health and well-being, and giving back and supporting our neighbors, your membership gives you and your community the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive.
You are able to choose which membership option fits you best! You can get a full privilege membership that allows you access to the fitness centers for an individual, family or senior level. The Y is also a SilverSneakers location. This allows those eligible through their healthcare provider the opportunity to be a full privilege member at no additional cost. For more information on benefits or fees, please visit our website:http://www.edwardsvilleymca.com/page/membership/
The Y is the starting point for many youth to learn about becoming and staying active, and developing healthy habits they’ll carry with them throughout their lives. And the benefits are far greater than just physical health. Whether it’s gaining the confidence that comes from learning to swim or building the positive relationships that lead to good sportsmanship and teamwork, participating in sports at the Y is about building the whole child, from the inside out. We strive at the Edwardsville YMCA to have something for everyone. We offer programs year-round in various activities and range in age from toddlers to seniors. Our program departments include:
The Allison Cassens Early Childhood Development Center is a full day daycare dedicated to enriching the lives of children from infancy to 6 years old. We promise to provide a loving, caring, honest, and respectful environment for your child to learn and grow in. Each classroom and the curriculum taught in that room is designed to meet the needs of the children in that particular age group. We will provide the children with opportunities and experiences to stimulate a child’s physical, social, intellectual and emotional development. The program is licensed and follows a constructive philosophy with open-ended art activities, science, fine and gross motor skills and hands-on discovery in an enriching environment.
The YMCA understands the sensitive needs of your child. We offer developmental age appropriate activities that ensure your child gets the most out of our Allison Cassens Early Childhood Development Center experience.
