Highland Jaycees Host Annual Schweizerfest

Highland, IL, April 26th, 2024– The Highland Jaycees will host their annual Schweizerfest June 7th through 9th at the town square in Highland.  The event runs Friday evening from 5:00 PM to Midnight, Saturday from 11am to Midnight, and Sunday from 11am to 8:00 PM.  

               The event will kick off Friday Night with rides and food vendors opening around 5:00 PM. with a variety of options to eat including, Nachos, Tacos, Corn Dogs, Pulled Pork. Vendors will be selling a variety of cuisines and beverages, and there will be plenty of games, rides, and entertainment for both children and adults all three Days. 

On Saturday the Schweizerdash, a 5k Fun Run, kicks off the event with Registration at 7:00 AM.  Food and Beverages open around noon and run till close.  Rides will open at 2pm. There are several events for everyone to enjoy on Saturday afternoon. We offer FREE bounce houses at the same time as the annual washers tournament from Noon to 4PM. There is a free beverage tasting from 1p-3p. The Cheerleaders routine starts at 11:15AM and the Mad Scientist will host a “Sounds Like Science” show for Kids from 12:30 to 1:30, then the Kids Korner will have a Bubble Van from 2-4pm. This will be an experience that the little ones won't want to miss. 

Sunday the festivities begin around 11am, with a Beverage sampling near the West Tent, FREE bounce houses again from noon – 4pm. The Kids Korner will have the Bubble Van 2-4pm. The Bags Tournament on Sunday from Noon till 4:00 PM.  Rides will open at 1pm.

               The parade will begin at 5:00 PM on just Saturday this year. It will showcase the outstanding local businesses and organizations in the community. The theme this year is Rockin’ through Schweizerfest.

               The entertainment for this year’s festival is packed with musical groups that everyone will enjoy. On Friday evening Warren Evans will kick us off at 5pm on the Mainstage until 8pm then the Yacht Rockers will be playing the East tent from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM, and the Cheers Band will close it down in the West Tent from 8:00 PM until Midnight.  Saturday, in the In the East Tent, Jethro Makes 3 will be playing from Noon to 4:00 PM then Johnny Rockitt will play from 8:00 PM till Midnight. On the Main Stage, Saturday, Benders and Backroads will play from 4pm-8pm. In the West Tent on Saturday, Katie Hatch will play from 1- 4pm followed by Shut-Up Mark from 8:00 till Midnight.  On Sunday, in the West Tent, Brother Jefferson Band will play from 11am to 3:00 PM followed by Double D Reunion from 4:00 till 8:00 PM.  The East Tent, on Sunday, The Jorrells will be playing from 3 – 7 PM. The Main Stage, Sunday, will have the RX Blues Band from 12 – 3:00 PM.
