Douglas “Doug” Jay Riggs, 71, passed away at 1:15 pm Monday, December 23, 2013 at his home.
He was born on April 16, 1942 in Bethalto, IL, the son of Thomas and Ruby (Snider) Riggs.
Doug was a car bodyman who worked out of his home and also at Nose Ford in Edwardsville. He was a member of the Box Droppers, FBI (Fat Boys of Illinois) and the Alton VFW Men’s Auxiliary. He enjoyed cars shows and cruises, where he loved to show off his Hot Rods.
He is survived by his children and a spouse, Kimberly and David Hauck of Godfrey, Jerry Riggs of Bethalto and Tracy Riggs of Alton; six grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister.
Visitation will be from 1:00 pm until services at 3 pm Monday. December 30, 2013 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto.
Burial will be at a later date.
