
GODFREY- Margaret Ruth Evancho, 73, formerly of Jerseyville, died at 11:50 p.m., Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at her residence after a brief battle with lymphoma.She was born in Jersey County on Aug. 3, 1939, and was the last surviving child born to the late Charles Marvin & Ruea (Evans) Miller.Margaret was a proud graduate of Jersey Community High School, and was a member of the Class of 1957.A year and half later, she married Steven Edward Evancho on Jan. 17, 1959 in Jerseyville, and they shared 50 years together before his death on Dec. 16, 2009.Surviving are her five children & their spouses, Steve Evancho of Godfrey, Rhonda & Fred Wieneke of Jerseyville, Donna & Chuck Richie of Alton, Trish Evancho of Jerseyville, and Jesse & Alexis of Alton; 12 Grandchildren, Tara, Stephanie, Dawn, Ellen, Chuck II, Julianna, Katelin, Jacob, Sam, Jenna, Jace and Cade; and three great grandchildren.In addition to her own five children, Margaret lovingly accepted the responsibility, along with the joys, of raising the six Zibrida children after the death of their parents. She is also survived by three sisters in law, Gail Miller Carr of Jerseyville, Lena Miller Ramsay and Madge Miller Murrell both of Otterville, along with a special niece, Mary Jane Johnson of Godfrey, and a special "son', David Guntren of Bloomsdale, Mo.In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Ira "Bill" Miller, Carl "Ed" Miller, Delmar Dallas Miller, Loy Miller, Earsie Miller, and an infant brother, Leo Miller; and two sisters, Marie McIntyre and Irene Wells.Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of funeral services at 11 a.m., Monday at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville.Burial will be in the St. Francis Xavier Cemetery in Jerseyville.Memorials may be given to the family to assist in establishing a memorial brick at Alton Memorial Hospital in her honor
