Marguerite Fitzgerald, 90, died at 3:49 p.m. Sunday, December 23, 2012 at Rosewood Care Center in Edwardsville. Born February 23, 1922 in Alton, she was the daughter of Paul and Jeanie (Wood) Herren. She married Edward J. Fitzgerald on August 18, 1942 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He preceded her in death on August 24, 1967. Surviving are two sons, Michael Fitzgerald (Susan) of Evergreen Park, IL, and James Fitzgerald (Cheryl) of Los Gatos, CA, five grandchildren, Gregory Fitzgerald (Joanna)of Tucson, AZ, Erin Babarskis (Casey) of Chicago, Kelly Fitzgerald of Chicago, Erica Fitzgerald of San Diego, CA, and Christopher Fitzgerald of San Francisco, three great grandchildren, Avery Babarskis of Chicago, and Darby and Max Fitzgerald of Tucson, AZ, and a sister, Bessie Rocca of Ft. Wayne, IN. She was preceded in death by her husband, a sister, Shirley Dillinger, and brother, Raymond Herren. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until time of funeral mass at 6:00 p.m. Friday, December 28, 2012 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alton. Burial will be private at St. Patrick’s Cemetery.
