Mary Ann Thompson, nee Gintz, 69, of Belleville, Illinois, passed away on November 2, 2026.
Born on May 25, 1957, in Belleville, Illinois, to the late Hugo and Helen Gintz, Mary spent her life creating memories, sharing laughter, and enjoying time with family and friends.
Mary enjoyed painting, traveling, and spending time with her family. She was also known for playing a fiercely competitive game of cards, where she wasn't one to go easy on anyone! Whether expressing her creativity through painting, exploring new places, or gathering around the card table, Mary enjoyed life's simple pleasures and the memories made along the way.
Together, Mary and Frederick built a family and shared a lifetime of memories. While her family mourns her passing, they take comfort in knowing that she is now at peace, reunited with her husband and loved ones who went before her.
Mary was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 40 years, Frederick Thompson, who passed away in 2018; her parents, Hugo and Helen Gintz; and a sister, Robin, in infancy.
She is survived by her two children, Ryan Thompson (Jennifer) and Heather Lemmons (Jared); her four grandchildren, Skottlynne Oajaca (Jose), Alycia Thompson, Amelia Lemmons, and Vincent Lemmons; and her two great-grandsons.
Mary is also survived by her sister, Tina Gregory; her nieces, Brandy and Lindsey; and their children, along with extended family and friends.
May she rest in eternal peace.
