Christina (Chris/Cisy) A. Phillips, 87, passed away at 9:55 am on Monday, October 26, 2026 at The Bluffs in Columbia, MO.
She was born on December 15, 1938 in Alton, IL?, the daughter of Albert and Elsie (Self) Weirich. Christina married Harold "Hoppy" in 1957 and he preceded her in death 2002.
A fiercely hard worker, Christina taught her children strength, independence and a strong work ethic. Her greatest joy was making life beautiful for her family-especially to her grandchildren. “Nanny” traveled every single year to ensure their birthdays were wrapped in her unconditional love.
Her work included Frisco Railroad, Owens-Illinois, Duke Bakery? and Schwegel's Grocery. She had been a member of St. Mary's Altar Society and the Ursuline Convent Auxiliary. Christina was then an active member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Godfrey before moving to Missouri.
Christina is survived by five children and their spouses, Jeff (?S?andi) Phillips, Christopher (Jan) Phillips, Shawn (Eileen) Phillips, Tracey (Jeff) B?i?erman, and Michelle (Jeff) Romano; three siblings, Marguerite Ashley, Timothy ?(Nayda?) Weirich, and Pamela Rohour; twelve grandchildren, Sarah (Nick) Batchelder, Lacey ?(Robin) ?H?aack, L?i?ndsey ??P?hillips, Anna ?Nathan) O’Connor, Haley ?(Travis) Kobermann, Samuel ?(Taylor) Phillips, Noah ?(Kyla) Phillips, Rachel ?(Daniel) Follmer, Parker ?(Jordan) Bierman, Michael Romano, Joseph Romano, and John Romano; ?twelve great-grandchildren?, and many other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband, "Hoppy"?, she is preceded in death by ?one child, Kimberly Phillips, h?er grandson, Ryan B?i?erman; and her siblings, John Weirich, Gerald Weirich, Gregory ?(and Cathy) Weirich, and Albert ?F. Weirich?, Jr.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, November 18, 2026 at 10:30 am at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Godfrey?, with burial following at St. Joseph Cemetery.
