Kelly Sue Lovsey, age 62, of Mt. Olive, IL, passed away at her residence on Sunday, October 25, 2026.
Born in Chicago, IL, Kelly was the daughter of the late Bruce and Patricia (Jeffery) Carter. On March 19, 1982, she married Curtis D. Lovsey in Edwardsville, IL, beginning a 44-year partnership built on a shared life together.
Kelly was never one to meet a stranger and could light up a room with her energy. She loved the beach, keeping her home full of a rotating jungle of house plants, and surrounding herself with way too many small dogs that she cared for deeply.
She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Curtis; her daughter, Tia Ferrari and husband Dan of Worden, IL; four grandchildren, Kamron Lovsey, Jacob Ferrari, Grace Ferrari, and Katelyn Ferrari; and her brother. She was preceded in death by her parents and her son, Michael Lovsey.
In accordance with her wishes, Kelly will be cremated and laid to rest near her son at Valley View Cemetery in Edwardsville. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
