Stella Mae Emmons, 99, of Godfrey, IL, passed away Saturday, October 24, 2026, Alton Memorial Hospital, Alton. Born on October 19, 1927, in Alton to August and Sadie (Perkinson) Fritz.
She was a retired teacher aid from ARC in Wood River, IL. She married Leroy Emmons in Alton, IL.
She is survived by her sons and daughter, Vernon "Jack" (Anessa) of Godfrey, Dave (Joann) Emmons of Texas, Daniel Emmons of East Alton, Dennis Emmons of Godfrey, Terry Emmons of Godfrey, Sherry Weigel of Godfrey, Jay Emmons of Godfrey, Jan (Connie) Emmons of Alton and Brian Emmons of Godfrey; grandchildren, Jackson, Bailey, Molly, Rachel and Laura and numerous great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy; a son, Mickey Emmons; two daughters, Peggy Emmons and Candice Ann Emmons; brothers and sisters, Virgil, Marion, Millie, Shirley, Alice, Emma Lou, Virginia and Margie.
Visitation will be from 9 am until time of funeral service at 1 pm, Tuesday, October 27, 2026, at Gent Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Alton, IL.
Burial will be in Upper Alton Cemetery in Alton. Memorials may be given to 5 A's or the American Cancer Society.
