Braedon Anthony Favilla, 27, beloved son of Christine Favilla and Cody Favilla, and brother of Adriana Favilla (her beloved Bobo) passed away surrounded by loved ones on Friday, October 16, 2026 at Barnes Jewish Hospital after a sudden and short illness.

Born January 22, 1999 in Durango, Colorado, Braedon moved to Alton with his parents in 2001. A 2017 graduate of Alton High School and graduate of Lewis and Clark Community College, Braedon worked at World Wide Technology.

Braedon loved music, and attended many concerts, local shows, and music festivals in his 27 years. He occasionally provided immersive light displays for shows, getting to showcase his artistic and technical skills. He enjoyed spending time with friends, family, and his fur babies Pumpkin, Momo and Papaya.

Braedon loved to travel and spend time in the mountains and in nature. He also loved food, trying new places to eat, and creating amazing meals. He loved art. He was a fierce advocate for the environment, human and animal rights, always speaking on behalf of marginalized groups.

There are no words to express the grief his family, friends, and of those his kind heart and gentle soul touched. We are heartbroken. 27 years was not enough time with him.
Braedon is survived by: his father Cody Favilla of Godfrey; mother Christine Favilla (nee Heffron) of Alton; his sister Adriana Favilla; parental grandparents, Robert and Marijane Favilla; maternal grandfather, Melvin Heffron; aunts and uncles Jennifer Favilla, Kurt (Jennifer) Wassil, and Claire (Ben) Heffron-McKinney; and numerous cousins, extended family, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Karen Black, and maternal grandmother, Patricia Heffron.

To honor Braedon, please hold your loved ones close, spend time with the people you love, listen to music, hang out in nature, stand up for others, fight the system of oppression, eat good food, adopt a pet, make art, and learn something new: because we are all just walking each other home.

Memorial visitation will be from 3 to 6 pm, Wednesday, October 21, 2026, at Gent Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Alton. Memorial service will be at 6 pm, with Pastor Peter Hough officiating. We can think of no greater way to honor Braedon than to invite all attendees to wear your favorite concert t-shirt, tie dye, or festival colors, if you wish.

Donations in his memory may be made to Heart Support, providing mental health support and outreach to festival fans, or The Nature Institute of Godfrey, Illinois. Additional information and online guestbook are available at www.gentfuneralhome.com.
