Barbara Lindauer, née McKinney, 92, of New Athens, IL, passed away on October 8, 2026, in St. Louis, MO. She was born on May 3, 1934, in St. Louis, MO.
Barbara was a devoted Catholic whose faith remained an important part of her life. A longtime member of St. Agatha Catholic Church in New Athens, she faithfully attended weekly Catholic services at her nursing home for as long as her health permitted.
Barbara was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Curt Lindauer, whom she married on May 9, 1952; her son, Robert “Bob” Lindauer; her parents, Don and Lucille McKinney; her brothers, John J. McKinney and Patrick McKinney; and her sisters, Eileen Heidorn and Susan Aldrich.
She is survived by her children, Curt Lindauer III (Jane Broeckling), Christopher Lindauer (Patricia), and Leslie Ann Cieurzo (Chris); her daughter-in-law, Cathy Lindauer; and her sister, Marilyn (Clarke) Steigerwald. Barbara is also survived by nine grandchildren, Jennifer Cranny, Christin Bacharach, Curt Lindauer IV, Lori Locke, Eric Lindauer, Matthew Lindauer, Rachel Lindauer, Cole Mahat, and Haley McSpadden; 12 great-grandchildren; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Barbara’s family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated staff of Accolade Healthcare of Waterloo for the compassionate care, kindness, and dignity they provided throughout her time there.

Visitation: Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance and celebration of her life 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, October 31, 2026, at St. Agatha Catholic Church in New Athens, IL.
Funeral: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 31, 2026, at St. Agatha Catholic Church, New Athens, IL, with Fr. Andrew Knopnik officiating.
Barbara will be laid to rest at Oakridge Cemetery in New Athens, IL, alongside her beloved husband and son.
