Rev. Victoria "Vickie" L. Hastings, 79, passed away after a long life that was well lived on Monday, September 28, 2026 at her home in Wood River.
Born April 22, 1947 in Sesser, IL, she was the daughter of John Arnold and Paul and Tracy (Hearn) Piper.
In the year of 1965 in Granite City, she married Ronald B. Hastings. He passed away in 2003.
Her occupation was always an important part of who she was, and she worked as a nursing assistant for 13 years, apartment manager at Eden Village Retirement Center, and later took a position as church administrator with College Ave Presbyterian Church, which later merged with LoveJoy in Wood River, where she retired at 73 years of age. During this time she also studied and became licensed with the Assemblies of God, which she enjoyed the very most. She was a true prayer warrior and witness for her Lord and Savior.
She is survived by a son, Brian (Muffy) Hastings of East Alton; A daughter, Gayla Boehm of Wood River; brother, Cletus (Johanna) Piper of Bethalto; a half brother, Gary (Donna) Arnold of Lebanon, TN; Grandson, Nate Boehm of Wood River; as well as several other grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, John Arnold; mother, Tracy Piper; step father, Paul Piper; and husband, Ronald B Hastings.
Visitation will be from 4-6 pm Wednesday, September 30 and the service will be at 11 am Thursday, October 1 at Marks Mortuary in Wood River.
She will be laid to rest at RoseLawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto following the service.
