Kyong Suk (Han) Ocepek, 79, of Livingston, IL, passed away at 8:13 AM on Wednesday, September 2, 2026 at her residence in Livingston, IL. She was born October 18, 1946 in Chon Ju, South Korea, the daughter of the late Yeng Hyon & Yang Yo (Kim) Han. She married Gary Ocepek on March 28, 1968 at the American Embassy in South Korea & he survives.
Kyong was employed as a Nurses Aide at Staunton Health & Rehab Center in Staunton, IL, for 38 years. She was also a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Livingston, IL, & loved spending time with her children & grandson.
She is survived by her husband - Gary Ocepek of Livingston, IL; one son - Aaron (Kimberly Baker) Ocepek of Staunton, IL; one grandson - Aaron J. Ocepek Jr.; two sisters - Chung Gin & Hwa Jing; & two brothers. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one son - Tommy Ocepek; & two brothers.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 PM on Tuesday, September 8, 2026 at Lesicko Funeral Home in Livingston, IL. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 AM on Wednesday, September 9, 2026 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Livingston, IL, with Father Mike Haag officiating. Interment will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Livingston, IL.
