Beverly Vanata, 90 of Godfrey, passed away Tuesday, August 11, 2026 at 11:39 pm at her residence surrounded by her family.
Beverly was born on May 4, 1936, in Colchester, IL to Meredith Bernard and Hazel Katherine (Diffenderffer) Edwards.
She worked as the Office Manager for Metro Sports and bookkeeper for Jim Beemer Parts Stop. She was a member of 1st United Methodist of Alton. Her hobbies included working with stained glass, painting, gardening, especially growing gourds and baking.
She married Ronald M. Vanata.
Surviving are her son, Brent E. Vanata of Godfrey, IL; her daughter, Ronda K. Vanata of Owensboro, KY and a half sister, Billie Powell of Colchester, IL and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 pm, Friday, August 21, 2026 at Gent Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Alton. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 am, Saturday, August 22, 2026 at Gent Funeral Home & Cremation Services, with Chaplin Joel Lohr officiating.
Burial will be in Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey. Memorials may be given to 5 A's Animal Shelter.
