Ronald “Ronnie” Lee Barnett, 56, of Jerseyville, passed away in an accident on Sunday, May 3, 2026.
He was born on January 19, 1970, the son of Julia “Judy” (Sparks) Gray and Harold “Butch” Barnett.
Ronnie enjoyed riding his four wheelers and dirt bikes, spending time with his boys, and loved randomly popping in to visit his friends and cousins. He grew up spending time in the woods and Piasa Creek with his little sister, who he affectionately called “Lips” for always stealing his drinks. Ronnie also loved being with his girlfriend Amanda and working on anything that had a motor.
He is survived by his mother Julia (William) Gray of Brighton; father Harold (Catherine) Barnett of Brighton; two sons Trenton Barnett and Corben Barnett both of Brighton; grandson Thomas Barnett; little sister Michelle-Rena (Barnett) Aldridge (boyfriend Brett Demond); and his beloved dog, Baby Girl.
Ronnie was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents and paternal grandparent.
Graveside services will be held at 11 am on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at St. Francis Cemetery in Jerseyville.
A celebration of life will be held from 1 pm to 4 pm on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at Alton VFW.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family to assist with funeral expenses.
