Evonne M. Bunker, 78, of Granite City, Illinois, passed away peacefully at 2:00 a.m. on Sunday, February 8, 2026, at Gateway Regional Medical Center in Granite City. She was born June 12, 1947, in Granite City, the daughter of the late Orlie and Ruth Ellen (Reisinger) Bunker Sr.
Evonne dedicated many years of her life to the banking industry, retiring after a long and faithful career with U.S. Bank. She was a longtime and devoted member of Unity Baptist Church in Granite City. In her free time, Evonne found joy in cross stitch work, crocheting, working puzzle books, and relaxing with a good Stephen King movie or novel.
She is survived by her beloved daughter, Ann Harris; three grandchildren, Larry Harris (fiancé, Nicholas Muniz), Kiefer Harris, and Ashley Granger (fiancé Dearias); several great-grandchildren; her brother, George Bunker; along with nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
In addition to her parents, Evonne was preceded in death by her former husband, Willie Garnett; three sisters, Elaine Evans, Linda Hurry, and Mary Beth Bunker; and her brother, Orlie Bunker Jr.
A private family burial will be held at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
