Terry E. Weiss, age 77 of Greenville, passed away Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at Greenville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Greenville.
Funeral Mass 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 5, 2025, at the St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Greenville with Father Stone officiating. Interment will follow in St. Lawrence Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the church. In lieu of flowers, plants, and gifts please make memorials to the Lemuel Rhodes Foundation.
Terry Edward Weiss was born December 19, 1948, in Highland, Illinois. Son of Vallie and Rose (Korte) Weiss, Terry grew up in Pierron, Illinois. He attended Immaculate Conception School and St. Paul High School. Terry attended and graduated from Southern Illinois University College in Edwardsville, Illinois.
August 21, 1971, Terry and Florence J. Schaufelberger were united in marriage. They had 3 children: Stacey, Christopher, and Nicole. Florence passed away on April 12, 2008.
Terry was a mailer at the Wall Street Journal in Highland, Illinois, a member of St. Louis Mailers Union No.3 C.W.A. He and Florence and family attended St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Terry was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Enjoying time with his grandchildren and family were important to Terry. He also loved woodworking, yard work, golfing, sitting by the lake, and spending time with friends at the V.F.W. and The Old Mill.
Surviving are his children: Stacey Weiss, Christopher (Bethannie Post) Weiss, and Nicole Weiss. Grandchildren: Darby Post (Cody Neely), Jesah Thole, Clay Weiss (Abigail Miller), Kyler Thole, Regan Thole, Cody Weiss, Jaxon Weiss, and Pippa-Jean Weiss, and great-grandfather to Ivy Weiss. Also surviving are brothers Ronald (Chris) Weiss, Stephen (Susan Weiss), sisters Ruth (James) Ronat and Donna (Jack) Munie, sisters-in-law Judy Schroeter and Sue Schaufelberger and brother-in-law Rodney Reavis. Host of nieces and nephews and countless dear friends.
Preceded in death by his parents Vallie and Rose, in-laws George and Lorraine (Thomason) Schaufelberger, wife Florence, brother Neal Weiss, brother-in-law George Schaufelberger, James Schaufelberger, sister-in-law Ardis Reavis.
