Pary “Pete” A. Moyers, 82, passed away on December 24, 2025, at his residence in Alton, Illinois.
He was born on June 25, 1943, in Alton, IL, to Pary W. and Virginia M. (Craine) Moyers.
On June 21, 1981, Pete married Rebecca “Becky” Patton at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Godfrey, IL. Together they shared 44 wonderful years of marriage.
Pete was soft-hearted at his core and had a deep love for animals. He enjoyed reading western novels by Louis L’Amour, admiring classic cars, and bird watching. He was a proud member of the United States Navy.
He is survived by his loving wife, Rebecca Moyers; two daughters, Kim (Butch) Woods of Bethalto, IL, and Wendy (Andrew) Teare of Newburgh, IN; grandchildren, Kyle Haas, Mikayla Cuenca, A.J. Woods, Sydney Teare, Drew Teare, and Tyler Teare; nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Rebecca Sue Trent; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Pary and Virginia Moyers; and two sisters, Peggy Werner and Susan Flynn.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Monday, December 29, 2025, at Elias, Kallal, and Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey, IL.
Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:00 a.m. at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Godfrey, IL. Father Steve Janoski will be officiating.
Burial will follow at St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery in Godfrey, IL.
