Logan Thomas Williams, 17, of Troy, Illinois, and formerly of Collinsville, passed away following a tragic car accident near Pere Marquette State Park in Jersey County at 5:16 a.m. on Sunday, July 6, 2025. His final act of love and generosity came through organ donation, with his life officially pronounced at 11:56 a.m. on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.

Born April 30, 2008, in Town and Country, Missouri, Logan was the deeply loved son of Todd C. and Toni M. (Mendez) Williams. He had just completed his junior year at Triad High School and was eagerly anticipating his senior year. A bright and driven student, Logan was a proud member of the school’s tennis team and an all-around sports enthusiast, enjoying baseball, soccer, and fishing throughout the years.

He was employed with American Aeration Outdoors in O’Fallon and took great pride in his work. Logan was also an active member of the Boy Scouts of America, where he earned numerous awards and made lifelong memories through adventure, service, and dedication.

Logan’s gentle soul, kind heart, and selfless spirit left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He was always the first to offer help, a listening ear, or a comforting presence. His compassion and generosity touched countless lives, and his legacy of kindness will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and community.

He is survived by his devoted parents, Todd and Toni Williams of Troy; his loving sister, Brooke E. Williams; grandparents Jim and Patsy Williams of Pontoon Beach; aunts and uncles Laura and Mark Guenther of Collinsville, Richard and Gayle Mendez Jr. of Edwardsville, and Kris and Scott Heatherly of Granite City; and his many adored cousins—Becky, Katie, Jordan, Kristen, Matthew, Lila, Lydia, Derek, Beau, and Vivian. He is also remembered by his girlfriend, Haley Miller; his best friend, Carter Westbrook; and many extended family members and dear friends.

Logan was preceded in death by his grandparents, Richard and Geraldine Mendez Sr.

A celebration of Logan’s life will be held with visitation on Sunday, July 20, 2025, from 1:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Irwin Chapel, 591 Glen Crossing Road, Glen Carbon. Funeral services will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 21, officiated by Reverend Sharon Autenrieth. Burial to follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Edwardsville.
