Florence M. Fleshren, nee Frerker, passed away on Saturday, December 14, 2024, with her children at her side, at the age of 90 after a fall on October 31.

Florence was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

She retired from the St. Clair County Regional Superintendent of Schools Office after 17 years and remained close with many that she worked with after retirement.

Florence enjoyed traveling with her husband Wayne and many close friends to the Caribbean Islands and Europe. After his passing she joined several card clubs and continued to enjoy the company of many long-time dear friends, while making new ones along the way. She was a member of the Swansea Moose and could be found there on many a Friday night for fish with friends.

She had many lifelong friends who she cherished, but her greatest love and pride was her family. She loved family gatherings and holidays when everyone would get together for events or meals.

She will be deeply missed by many, but all who knew her, will know that she is at peace because she is now able to rejoin Wayne, and they can continue their journey.

God bless you, Mom.

Florence was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 57 years, Wayne F. Fleshren, who passed away January 8, 2013. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Veronica, nee Nordaus, Frerker, a brother and sister-in-law, David and Aurea Frerker, and a brother in-law, Ralph Fleshren.

She is survived by her four children, Bruce (Kathleen) Fleshren, Sandra (John) Pietroburgo, Brian (Teri) Fleshren, and Sharon (Bradley) Meinkoth; six grandchildren, Jamie (Logan Short) Pietroburgo, Jessie (Adam) Hermann, Erin (partner Clinton Dall) Fleshren, Kristin Fleshren, Sarah Meinkoth, and Chelsey (Jeffry) White; seven great-grandchildren, Archer and Evelyn White, Ellis and Olive Pietroburgo, Ace and Marnie Hermann, and Kate Dall; she is also survived by a brother, Donald (Cathy) Frerker, and sister in-law Elizabeth “Betty” Fleshren-Bowen.
