Michael T. Gray passed away Saturday, October 19, 2024 after a lengthy illness.
Born June 19, 1959 in Alton, he was the son of John and Naomi (Lefler) Gray.
Mike is survived by his wife Chris (Emerson) Gray; sons Vincent (Claire) Gray of Cleves, OH and John (Jessica) Gray of Elizabethtown, KY; stepson Lewis Boyer of Missouri; grandchildren, Gavin Gray, Bailey, Kylie, Vincent, and Zoey Gray, and Virginia Boyer; brothers John (Joyce) Gray, Jim (Pam) Gray, Ed (Deb) Gray, and Mark (Denise) Gray; sister, Susie Deck; and many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; John James Gray and Naomi Gray; and sisters Polly Dickerson and Cristy Hopkins (who passed away 11 days before him). “And then there were five.”
Michael graduated from Alton High School and Lewis & Clark Community College. He served in the Army from 1978 to 1981. He worked at Roxana High School as a computer technician until his retirement. Michael loved to golf and watch football, and he also enjoyed cooking.
A Celebration of Michael’s Life will join his sister Cristy’s Celebration at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26, 2024 at Alton-Wood River Sportsman’s Club, 3109 Godfrey Road, Godfrey, IL.
