Julia “Judy” Fay Griffin, 80, of Godfrey, IL, passed away on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at her home.
She was born on December 22, 1943, in Scottsboro, AL, the daughter of the late Horace and Suzie (Smith) Wilkerson.
Judy married Bill Griffin on May 23, 1960, in Alabama. He preceded her in death on October 8, 2018.
She was a waitress at B&K Restaurant in Brighton for over 25 years. Judy later retired from Walmart and always loved getting to know people, making connections and relationships that lasted her entire life. She enjoyed gardening, traveling with her husband Bill, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Judy is survived by two sons, Brad Griffin of Brighton, IL and BJ “Jay” (Amy) Griffin of St. Charles, MO; three grandchildren, William, Abby, and Lydia Griffin.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Brian Griffin; four sisters, Glenda Heathcoat, Shirley Allen, Sandra Chodacki, and an infant sister Wanda Wilkerson.
Visitation will be held from 5 pm to 7 pm on Thursday, February 15, 2024, at Anderson Family Funeral Home in Brighton.
Funeral service will be held at 10 am on Friday, February 16, 2024, at Anderson Family Funeral Home in Brighton.
Burial will follow at Brighton Cemetery.
