Diana Lynn Hewitt, 76, of East Alton, Illinois passed away at 11:57 a.m. on Monday, October 23, 2023, at the Alhambra Rehab and Healthcare. She was born December 2, 1946, in Alton, Illinois, a daughter of the late Perry Smith and Virginia (Cheek) Johson.
She will be remembered for her love for her family and friends. She loved planning get-togethers, babysitting grandchildren, reading books, going to the movies, working puzzles and taking care of her family. Diana was a loving daughter, wife, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Robert L. Hewitt; daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Brian Pryor; daughter, Beverly Seymour; sister and brother-in-law, Suzanne and Ray Gardner; grandchildren, Samantha Hoehn, Maxwell Hoehn, Brooklyn Moss, Madeline Wreath, Adam Moss, Nick Moss, Chelsea Moss, Brayden Moss and Amanda Mundy; great-grandchildren, Daymon Clay, Kamden Nolen, Coltin Caldwell, Jaiden Morckel, Alex Wreath, Kylah Wreath and Carlee Sterling; other extended family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two sons, Larry Moss and David Moss; aunt, Donna Borth and sister-in-law, Judy Beckham.
In celebration of her life, a private family ceremony will be held and she will be laid to rest at Woodland Hill Cemetery in Wood River. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. Irwin Chapel of Granite City is in charge of arrangements. www.irwinchapel.com
