Shaniah L. Dent, age 21, departed this earthly life to be with our Lord and Savior on February 12, 2022.She was born June 18, 2000, to Walter Lee Dent III and Tanisha Taylor. To know Shaniah was to love her.For a portion of her life, Shaniah was raised by her loving grandmother Veronica Marshall and aunt Tomieka Carter alongside her cousins, Lashay, Ciara, and Jone’. Shaniah, affectionately known as, "Niah" graduated from Alton High School and went on to become a Direct Support Professional at Challenge Unlimited in Alton, IL.She enjoyed working with the disabled until her sudden departure on February 12, 2022. The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Shaniah. In her free time, Shaniah enjoyed doing makeup, being with family, listening to music, or being the life of the party. She had an uncanny ability to find happiness in her daily activities. A beautiful blessing to anyone she came in contact with, Shaniah’s giving spirit would not allow anyone around her to go without. Her pleasant personality and warming smile was contagious to everyone she met, enough to light up a room.Shaniah is proceeded in death by her great grandmother; Mother Lois Marshall, great grandfather; Curtis Marshall, grandmother; Sheryl Taylor, grandfather; Roy Milton Brown, and younger brother; Jakari Dent, Aunt; Tammy Taylor, and a loving cousin; Jacquesa Taylor.She is survived by her grandmother/second mother; Veronica Marshall, Mother, Tanisha Taylor; Father, Walter Dent III; Sisters, Nikki, Arionne, Nashiah, Myiahna; brothers; Michael, Latrail, Walter IV, Aunts; Carla Taylor, D’ana Terrell, Lakisha Dent, A’Kisha Taylor and Anna Rose Brown all of Alton, IL; Danielle Taylor of Hinesville, Georgia and Tomieka Carter of Montgomery Alabama, Uncles; Bryant Baucom, Deandre Dent, Demarcus Taylor, Donnell Taylor of Alton, IL.
