Joseph E. Funk, 83, of Mount Olive, IL, died at his residence on Monday, July 5, 2021 at 8:28am.
He was born December 20, 1937, in Litchfield, IL to Mike Funk & Catherine (Semplowski) Funk. He married Carol (Sanvi) Funk on June 17, 1983 in Hillsboro, IL.
He was retired after having been an expediter for McDonnell Douglas. Joseph was a veteran of the US Navy. Joseph was a member of the Litchfield Moose Lodge.
He is survived by his spouse, Carol Funk of Mt. Olive, IL, daughter, Jolene (Kyle) Hanner of Staunton, IL, step daughters, Karen (companion, Richard Mellenthin) O'Neill of Mt. Olive, IL, Barb (David) Crispens of Litchfield, IL, grandchildren, Michael Houston, Justin O'Neill, Kaitlin O'Neill, Cassie Mayer, Jacob Mellenthin, Seth Crispens, great-grandchildren, Hannah Houston, Amelia Houston, Aedan Houston, siblings, Helen Zimmerman, Sophia Southworth, Edna Nail, Katie Whitehouse, and Mike Funk.
Joseph was preceded in death by his parents, step mother, Josephine Dankoski, brothers, Stanley, Walter, Louie, Frank and Charlie Funk, sisters, Stephanie Stroth and Regina Nail.
Graveside Services will be on Thursday, July 15, 2021 at 12pm at Elm Lawn Cemetery, Litchfield, IL. Memorials are suggested to American Cancer Society.
