Boneva M. Rolens, 87, of Glen Carbon, Illinois went to be with her Lord and Savior at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, January 29, 2021 at Anderson Hospital in Maryville.

She was born September 26, 1933 in Fredericktown, Missouri, a daughter of the late Reverend Orlando and Alma (Faircloth) Hale.

She married Lawrence E. “Pud” Rolens on July 30, 1950 in Arkansas and he passed away on September 14, 1996.

She had retired from the Motel 6 by the airport in St. Louis after 20 years of dedicated service as a desk clerk and manager. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Edwardsville and loved attending many churches throughout her life of serving the Lord. Boneva loved baking and was a talented cake decorator, making many cherished wedding cakes through the years. She was a devoted fan of the St. Louis Cardinals Baseball and loved watching every game. She cherished her children and grandchildren and will be remembered for the love and special times shared with her family and friends.

She is survived by seven children and spouses, Larry Rolens Jr. of Clarksville, Tennessee, Katherine and Roger Boyd of Granite City, Bobby Jean and Susan Rolens of Collinsville, Sherry and Jamey Tuttle of Edwardsville, Jimmy Rolens of Glen Carbon, Susan and Tim Campbell of Granite City and Danny and Vicki Rolens of Edwardsville; eighteen grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Reverend Larry E. and Bernice Hale of Minnesota; many nieces; nephews; other extended family and friends.

In addition to her beloved husband Larry of 47 years, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Infant Rolens and Nancy Rolens; a grandson, Chad Rolens; a brother, Reverend Ernest Hale and a sister, Stella Nadine Grace.

In celebration of her life, a private family service will be held at the First Christian Church in Edwardsville on Thursday, February 4, 2021 with Reverend Larry E. Hale officiating. Private burial will follow at Glen Carbon City Cemetery. Memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
